The flat is genuinely flat. A sole under 3cm keeps the foot level from heel to toe, which is what makes this sandal easy to walk any distance in — across sand, along a promenade, around a town on a hot afternoon. The construction is stripped back. A thong upper runs from between the toes and out to the sides, with a buckle securing the fit rather than leaving it loose, so the sandal stays on your foot through uneven ground instead of slipping off at the heel. Panelled stitching breaks the upper into sections, giving the strapping definition and structure where a single moulded piece would look plain.
